Blueback Freediving Beach Clean-Up
Collab:
A sensational opportunity to be a part of and photograph the soul-restoring work of cleaning up the coast at the start of whale carving season down in Bremer Bay.
Over the 31 May to 2 June long weekend a team of freedivers made the big road trip down for their annual BayLife: Banjelungup-Bremer Bay Blueback Community Camp. Amongst the dives along the beautiful coast of the Fitzgerald National Park they volunteered their time to a beach clean-up. Not only was it a perfect weekend to disconnect from city life and reconnect with nature, each other and themselves, it was a wonderful way to make a difference and help create a healthy space for whale births.
Aided by the creation of the app Rubbish Renegade, the rubbish collected was then recorded and tracked. This data is used to create reports that influence policy and change the way we think about waste, empowering people to make a difference in their communities.
A truly wholesome weekend filled with rugged earth, blue water, genuine connections, and heart-warming deeds.
